Computer Graphics Lead (Lighting, Compositing & Assets) / Senior Lecturer

About the role
The UTS Animal Logic Academy is seeking a Lead or Supervisor with 10+ years' CG experience mentoring teams across lighting, compositing and 3D assets to join a dynamic team delivering studio-based education for master's students. The role oversees the lighting, compositing, modelling, and surfacing departments within the Academy's proprietary VFX and 3D animation production pipeline.
The purpose of this position is to provide student and team mentoring and leadership within the context of studio practice for the students of the UTS Animal Logic Academy (ALA) in multiple areas of computer graphics production.
About You
You have 10+ years' of high-level studio production working on either/or animated or visual effects features or commercial productions and demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior to mid-level teams in specific areas of 3D animation and/or visual effects production, specifically: modelling, surfacing, lighting and compositing.
* Completion of an undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience, education and training
* Ability to manage multiple areas of computer graphics production such as modelling, surfacing, lighting and compositing for 3D animation production and deliver outcomes under tight deadlines
* Strong knowledge of 3D software packages with expert level knowledge in relevant areas of computer graphics production
* Excellent communication, mentoring and delegation skills, including the supervision of support staff
* Ability to develop new opportunities through external relationships and networks
* Experience in the execution of high-level professional productions for animation and visual effects and the ability to give direction to crew in achieving excellence in CGI projects
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $152,245 - $174,841 pa (Level C)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
The position is full-time and will be made on a continuing basis .
