About Elite Supplements Group
Elite Supplements is one of Australia's fastest-growing health and wellness groups, proudly named in the AFR Top 100 Fast Companies for three consecutive years. We operate a national inventory and distribution warehouse, 140+ retail and franchise stores, multiple fast-growing eCommerce channels, and an APAC entity in Singapore. Our multi-entity group structure spans wholesale, retail, franchise, eCommerce, and homebrand operations – making this one of the most dynamic and commercially rich finance environments in Australian retail.
The Role
We are looking for a commercially sharp Commercial Accountant who thrives in fast-paced, lean teams where structure isn't handed to you – you build it. This is a management accounting-led role within a complex, multi-entity group. You'll be expected to context-switch rapidly between entities, zoom into granular detail when the numbers demand it, and zoom out to understand the commercial story behind the P&L.
This role is not for someone who expects polished processes, documented procedures, and a playbook to follow. Our finance function is in a transformational phase. We need someone who can get in, learn fast, understand what needs to be done, and – on the go – work to change, streamline, automate, and build better structure and systems so that reporting outputs are delivered in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner.
Strong balance sheet fundamentals are important, but the primary focus is management accounting: P&L ownership, commercial insight, variance analysis, and delivering actionable financial information to the business. Balance sheet competency supports that – it doesn't define the role.
This role suits someone with 3+ years of relevant industry experience who is looking for genuine ownership, strategic exposure, and the chance to help shape how finance operates across a scaling group.
Core Accountabilities
Management Accounting & Commercial Insight
* Preparing and driving the month-end close process including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and management reporting across multiple entities
* P&L analysis, variance commentary, and performance insights that help department heads and leadership understand what's actually happening in the business
* Cash flow management, working capital analysis, and forward-looking financial visibility
* Partnering with eCommerce, retail, and wholesale leadership to improve cost allocation, margin analysis, and channel-level performance reporting
* Cross-departmental collaboration with 10–20 department heads across retail, operations, franchising, online, and wholesale
* Determining materiality versus accuracy – understanding which accounts need attention first based on dollar impact and commercial priority, not just textbook order
Balance Sheet & Technical Competency
* Strong working knowledge of balance sheet fundamentals – you don't need to own it outright from day one, but you must be confident navigating reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet integrity across a multi-entity group
* Intercompany reconciliations – maintaining clean, reconciled positions on a monthly basis across the group structure
* Fixed asset register support including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
* Gift card accounting and liability management across retail and eCommerce channels
* Sales clearing account reconciliation – reconciling sales systems (Shopify, POS, PayPal, Afterpay) through to the general ledger
Compliance & Audit Support
* GST and tax reconciliation – technical accuracy in BAS preparation and lodgement, working closely with external advisors
* Supporting external audit preparation, including documentation, reconciliation support, and query resolution
* Supporting statutory obligations and regulatory compliance in collaboration with the CFOO and external accounting partners
Process, Systems & Execution
* Building, redesigning, and improving processes on the fly – this is a core part of the role, not a side project
* Identifying what's broken, what's manual, what's slow – and taking ownership of fixing it without waiting for direction
* Hands‐on technology implementation across Xero, Cin7, Translucent, and supporting platforms
* Managing high transactional volumes across multiple entities with speed and accuracy
* Contributing to the broader finance transformation as the team scales and matures
What We're Looking For
Essential
* CA or CPA qualified, or actively progressing toward completion
* 3+ years of relevant industry accounting experience
* Demonstrated experience working in multi-entity or group environments with fast context switching between businesses, channels, and levels of detail
* Strong management accounting capability – P&L ownership, variance analysis, commercial reporting
* Solid balance sheet fundamentals – comfortable with reconciliations, accruals, intercompany, and month‐end integrity
* GST/BAS reconciliation and tax compliance proficiency
* Month‐end close experience with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a lean team
* A process‐builder mindset – proven ability to design, document, and implement processes from scratch, not just follow existing ones
* High execution speed – comfortable operating in environments where things move fast and structure is still being built
* The ability to balance detail with the bigger picture – understanding when precision matters versus when materiality and commercial judgement should guide the work
Desirable
* Exposure to Xero Cin7, or similar multi-platform accounting ecosystems
* Experience supporting or coordinating external audits
* Interest in or progression toward a broader commercial finance career path
* Study aspirations – candidates actively working toward CA/CPA completion are strongly encouraged to apply

On‐Site Requirement: This is a full‐time, on‐site role (Monday to Friday) for a minimum of the first 3 months.
