About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment Lawyer to join our client on a secondment basis (minimum 6 months with the potential to extend). Our client is a global technology leader, and this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with their legal team, providing expert advice and support on a diverse range of employment matters.
This role is fully remote, with an option to work in either the Sydney or Melbourne-based office if you choose. You must be based in Australia for the duration of this contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment law issues, including workplace disputes, employee relations, and compliance with employment legislation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in managing employment-related claims and litigation.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in employment law.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and practices.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and regulations.
- Experience in handling employment disputes and litigation.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist the client in achieving their strategic and commercial objectives.
About You
- An Australian-qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5PQE.
- You have previous experience working with a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.
- Strong knowledge of Australian law and regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
