* Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $115,817 to $130,667 pa + super
The NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee determines which species and ecological communities should be listed as threatened on the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. The committee is an independent agency appointed by the Minister for Environment, and is supported by a small, dedicated team from the DCCEEW Threatened Species and Ecosystems Policy branch.
We are seeking a proactive officer to join this team.
The Role
As a key member of the secretariat team, you'll be at the centre of the Committee's operations. You will:
* Support the statutory reporting that leads directly to evidence-based protection for our most vulnerable species.
* Coordinate the committee's monthly meetings and manage confidential information.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide critical administrative and secretariat support to ensure the Committee meets its legislative obligations under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and intergovernmental agreements.
About You
* You enjoy working in a small team on meaningful issues.
* You have a sharp eye for detail and can balance multiple priorities.
* You have a proven ability to handle complex and confidential reports with complete accuracy.
Essential Requirements
* Experience in the administration of government processes and requirements, the preparation of formal correspondence and the use of management information systems to record decision making processes.
* Experience in the preparation of complex reports and correspondence on confidential matters.
