Crowne Plaza Canberra is looking for a Part-time Handyperson to grow a great team. As a handyperson, you will be an essential member of our Maintenance team, maintaining everything in working order and looking great ranging from minor fixes to forward thinking for the next day. This will include small repairs as well as upkeep of the public spaces, guest rooms, and lightings at the hotel.
A little taste of your day to day
* Complete work orders as requested by the Maintenance supervisor or Team Leader and other directives to meet guest requirement
* Assist with the carrying out of a preventative maintenance program
* Carry out minor painting, tiling or plumbing or other works as directed
* Ensure plant rooms are checked and cleaned and are in operating order
* Carry duty phone and respond to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day
* Carry out any minor repairs to guest rooms or public areas
* Investigate reported faults for laundry and kitchen or other equipment
* Required to carry out regular and preventative maintenance on the hotel's equipment and facilities to make sure they run well
What We need from you
* Ability to work in a team and a fast-paced environment and prioritize workloads, as well as assist in supporting the team with other duties as required
* Handyperson skills including minor plumbing, tiling, painting and similar related to building maintenance.
* Excellent personal grooming and hygiene standards
* Flexibility – working weekends and public holidays are all part of the job
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Qualifications in Trade e.g. electrician, carpenter, plumber, painter is advantageous
* Motivation – your presence will impact your team and our guests; therefore, it will be important to stay motivated and energized
* Prior hotel experience is not mandatory but preferred
* Manual dexterity with exceptional balance to operate scaffolds and ladders
