Student Support Specialist
This is a key role in the school community, focusing on supporting students and their families. As a Student Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to teachers, management, and parents. You will also supervise a team of support staff and develop procedures and guidelines related to student welfare and family services.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide coordination support to teachers through rostering and organizing the work of a team of aides, including supervision and guidance.
* Conduct routine presentations to parents to assist teachers in communicating objectives and outcomes relating to educational programs and/or students.
* Liaise with external providers of support services.
* Provide medical intervention support that involves a specific medical condition approved by the Department, requires specialized training/instruction, and has clearly defined responsibility for the administration of such support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated capacity and technical knowledge to provide advice and support to management in respect to student welfare, family services, and related agencies.
* Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.
* Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
* Demonstrated capacity to work in a team environment.
