We're looking for a talented Site Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short-term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.
About the Role
* Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards.
* Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short-range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager.
* Input information and undertake minor design on-site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction.
* Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
* Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets.
* Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
* Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager.
* Maintain drawing register controls for the project.
* Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
* Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
* Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of construction works.
* Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, building construction or equivalent.
* Diploma of project management in engineering science, building, construction or equivalent.
* Chartered engineering status.
Experience:
* Proven experience in the utilities sector, specifically across all major utility services including relocation and protection.
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering.
* Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings.
* Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
