About Your New Role
The Payroll Compliance Leader is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of all payroll related data and processes. Working in close collaboration with the Payroll Operations Leader, this position will lead the compliance and audit functions of the payroll team with a focus on data quality, internal controls, regulatory adherence and risk mitigation.
About Your New Role
The Payroll Compliance Leader is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of all payroll related data and processes. Working in close collaboration with the Payroll Operations Leader, this position will lead the compliance and audit functions of the payroll team with a focus on data quality, internal controls, regulatory adherence and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities Include
* Lead, mentor and develop senior payroll team members in process, compliance and controls.
* Design, implement and manage regular audit programs across employee data, pay conditions, allowances, leave, terminations and superannuation to support the City achieve industrial obligations.
* Identify patterns or risks in payroll data and initiate corrective action.
* Partner with Payroll Operations Leader to ensure end to end payroll processes are compliant, efficient and accurate.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen data quality, reduce manual intervention and improve control mechanisms.
* Monitor trends, legislation and best practices in payroll and compliance to inform operational enhancements.
* Point of escalation for complex specialised compliance and payroll issues, providing advice and resolution strategies.
We’re Looking For People Who Have
* Relevant qualifications ie: Bachelor degree of Business or Certificate IV in Leadership and Management and/or extensive knowledge of and experience in payroll.
