We are looking for an experienced Data Specialist to lead our geological and drilling data collection efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting accurate and factual logging information, interpreting it to determine occurrence and composition of any oil and/or gas shows while drilling, and documenting your findings according to established guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Geology and at least 2 years of relevant field experience. They should possess excellent communication skills, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Collection and Analysis: Gather accurate and factual logging information, including depth, gas units and composition, rate of penetration, lag time, etc.
* Interpretation and Documentation: Interpret logging information to determine occurrence and composition of any oil and/or gas shows which occur while drilling, and document your findings according to established SDL zone of interest and/or show reports.
* Lithological Description and Reporting: Provide lithological descriptions of all formations drilled, identifying formation name, group, or member, and assemble mud logging information into mud logs and drilling database following established SDL and/or customer guidelines and procedures.
