Overview
An opportunity for a position as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor within the civil construction industry has become available. This role supports project delivery for land development and transportation projects in collaboration with DevelopmentWA and Main Roads WA, focusing on ensuring workers comply with work health and safety regulations as well as environmental regulations, and driving continuous improvement to the safety culture on site. The successful candidate will work closely with the construction project team to develop, implement, and monitor health and safety protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop strong relationships within all levels of the project to effectively influence staff to incorporate safety procedures and quality standards to reduce harm.
* Assist in the creation and development of safety reports and quality documentation.
* When required, undergo accident investigations for incidents and injuries, and determine corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
* Facilitate health and safety awareness sessions and training programs.
What You'll Bring
* 2-3 years of prior experience in an on-site Work Health and Safety (WHS) role, with a strong understanding of WHS regulations in construction-based projects.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage workers in safety training sessions.
* Good problem-solving skills with an adaptive mindset, capable of addressing investigations and implementing preventative measures.
