About the role:
We're looking for motivated and skilled Estimators to join our government-based construction, building and maintenance department on a contract basis. In this role, you'll be part of a team that maintains and delivers essential building and maintenance services across Queensland. You'll play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the state's schools, hospitals, housing, and government facilities.
Responsibilities include but not limited too:
* The Estimator plays a vital role in the preparation and development of accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and project specifications to support successful project delivery.
* This role involves analysing project requirements, interpreting technical documentation, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
* The Estimator is responsible for identifying cost efficiencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring that all estimates and specifications align with organisational objectives, industry standards, and client expectations.

The Client
Our client QBuild is the Queensland Government's building and asset services team, operating under the Department of Energy and Public Works. Delivering maintenance, construction, and project management services for public infrastructure across the state.
*To be successful you will have the following:*
* The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications or trade experience in cost estimation, tender development, or construction.
* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
* They must demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, coupled with organisational and time management skills, are critical for success in this role.
* A commitment to workplace health and safety standards, familiarity with industry regulations, and a valid driver's licence are mandatory.
* Experience in tender preparation and knowledge of procurement processes will be highly regarded.
