About the role
As the Finance Officer you will perform all necessary financial transactions and record keeping activities, ensuring the Company's accounts are maintained in good order and according to current legislation. You will liaise with clients, suppliers, Government Bodies, Accountants, Acmena staff and other business stakeholders as necessary.
This role reports to the Managing Director and is offered on a permanent part-time basis at .6 FTE (equivalent to three days per week). It is best suited to someone located in Brisbane, with our Milton office conveniently close to public transport, and includes opportunities for hybrid remote working.
Accountabilities
* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll, including accounts updates, invoicing, expense processing, and reconciliations.
* Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover (across multiple states), and EOFY reports.
* Generate budgets, monthly financial reports, and revenue forecasts; assist with project setup and cash flow management.
* Maintain compliance with ATO/ASIC requirements and ensure accurate financial records.
* Support management and the Board with financial insights, reports, and ad hoc analysis.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and maintain financial policies within the Business Management System.
* Liaise with Management and Accountants for EOFY.
Skills and Experience
* Cert IV in Finance and Bookkeeping or equivalent
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in similar role
* Strong proficiency in Excel preferred
* Strong experience in bookkeeping and payroll (Xero experience preferred).
* Knowledge of ATO/ASIC requirements and financial compliance.
* Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to management and Directors.
* Previous experience in project-based invoicing and Workflow Max (tool) is advantageous
