The Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Regional Conservation Officer to join our Northern Inland Regional Team.
The Senior Regional Conservation Officer works as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team to provide technical and ecological expertise and support to the delivery of BCTs programs in the Northern Inland region, including: landholder support, project management, partnership management, stakeholder engagement, education, communications, conservation assessment, compliance and agreement management.
About you
As a Senior Regional Conservation Officer, you will:
1. work collaboratively with the Northern Inland Team and other staff across the organisation to ensure best practice methods in the management of protected areas and conservation of biodiversity are upheld.
2. Work closely with landholders who are engaged in agreements with the New South Wales Biodiversity Offset Scheme and Conservation Agreements for offset purposes, contributing significantly to the preservation of our natural environment for future generations.
3. Assist landholders in understanding and fulfilling their obligations under the scheme and ensuring the successful implementation of biodiversity offsets
4. Evaluate data and documentation provided by proponents, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of ecological principles.
5. Negotiate pragmatic solutions that enhance biodiversity outcomes, balancing ecological needs with practical constraints, requiring a deep understanding of best practice biodiversity management.
6. Utilise exceptional project management skills, crucial for coordinating various tasks, stakeholders, and timelines effectively. Proficiency in Geographic
