The Role
The ABC is looking for a Producer to create compelling broadcast, digital and social media content across platforms. You will be a key contributor to the Illawarra Drive program, working in a fast-paced newsroom environment and collaborating closely with colleagues across Regional, Rural & Metro News.
The Job
* Create engaging broadcast, online and social media content for local and national audiences
* Produce the ABC Illawarra Drive program
* Source, research and develop original story ideas relevant to the local community
* Identify local content with the potential to travel across ABC platforms
* Contribute to emergency and major event coverage in line with the Local Emergency Coverage plan
* Engage with community stakeholders and participate in national projects as required
* Maintain strong local contacts and networks
* Cross-promote ABC content to grow audience reach and engagement
* Work collaboratively within a small, deadline-driven team while upholding ABC editorial standards and values

About You
You are a motivated and versatile content creator with a passion for local storytelling and audio journalism.
You'll have:
* Proven program making skills, with the ability to create original and engaging audio and cross-platform content
* Strong editorial judgement, including sourcing, researching and analysing information
* A solid understanding of the issues and stories that matter to local audiences
