About the Role
We are seeking a Librarian to join our Research Services team. The successful applicant will contribute to the acquisition and management of electronic resources, ensuring seamless access to scholarly content for students and academics.
* Support the procurement and maintenance of digital resources by analyzing usage statistics, negotiating pricing, evaluating licenses, conducting trials, and ensuring compliance with critical deadlines.
* Establish and maintain access to digital resources, including troubleshooting access issues and liaising effectively with vendors and IT staff.
* Process repository records to ensure they are accurate, complete, and follow relevant metadata standards and comply with copyright, embargoes, and Open Access policies.
Main Responsibilities
* Acquisitions: Analyze usage statistics, negotiate pricing, evaluate licenses, conduct trials, and ensure compliance with critical deadlines.
* Institutional Repository: Process repository records, ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to metadata standards, copyright, embargoes, and Open Access policies.
* General Research Support: Contribute to the University's strategic research priorities through services including institutional repository support, research data management, publishing advice, bibliometrics, and research skills development.
Requirements
* A professional qualification in librarianship recognized for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, supported by relevant work experience.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret, assess, and apply technical and procedural documentation, contributing to process and support materials development.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams, engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to achieve shared objectives.
* Capacity to quickly learn new systems, adapt to changing workflows, and respond flexibly in a dynamic environment.
