Job Description
The role involves overseeing the delivery of volunteer training programs aligned with the statewide rural firefighting training framework.
You will lead a network of Area Training Officers, ensuring high-standard planning, delivery, and evaluation of volunteer training across the district.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the development of strategic frameworks and plans for volunteer training, including curriculum development.
2. Lead, manage, and mentor Area Training Officers to ensure best-practice training delivery and personnel development.
3. Develop and implement the annual volunteer training plan for the district.
4. Identify and develop a network of qualified trainers to support training capacity.
5. Coordinate training evaluation and assurance activities to support continuous improvement and compliance with standards.
6. Assist with operational exercise management, providing support and advice on exercise objectives and outcomes.
7. Act as a conduit between Area Training Officers and the training unit, advocating for district needs and supporting state programs.
Participate in forums and working groups to support the development of rural fire service training capabilities.
