**About the service**
Barwon Health Drugs and Alcohol Service (DAS) provides clinical treatment and harm reduction services for people seeking assistance with their substance use. We provide comprehensive assessment, counselling, non-residential withdrawal, brief intervention and bridging support, and care co-ordination for people seeking treatment for their substance use. DAS has a range of harm reduction services including the needle and syringe program, naloxone training and provision, opioid replacement assessments and linkages to prescribers, Hep C screening and treatment, overdose support and education.
DAS is located in central Geelong in newly refurbished offices and is in close proximity to University Hospital. The location provides great access to the Geelong shopping and arts precinct, the Geelong Waterfront and public transport. **About you**
- Formal professionally recognized qualifications in relevant health field (i.e. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology).
- Extensive experience in relevant leadership roles and proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
- Extensive experience in the AOD sector
- Knowledge of evidence informed and best practice AOD interventions and treatment, harm reduction, recovery principles and family inclusive practice
**About the role**
The DAS Manager will lead, develop, oversee, manage, and report on daily operations and future growth of the Local Service.
Your key functions:
- Effectively leading the daily operational management of the service
- Developing and maintaining strong and sustainable collaborative relationships within MHDAS and relevant external stakeholders
- Oversight of clinical workflow (referrals, allocation, treatment and care), data reporting/analysis and student placements
- Ensuring services are high quality, innovative, evidence based and uphold the Barwon Health and MHDAS principles and goals
