Reliance Risk are recruiting casual and freelance Event Safety Officers to provide onsite safety advice and support to clients at their venues and event sites across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Event Safety Officers
We are seeking motivated, competent, experienced, and qualified risk and safety people who have experience in public venues, events, film/TV, construction, or other relevant industries.
Successful candidates will be strong communicators at all levels, possess good critical thinking skills, and have a thorough knowledge of managing high risk works encountered on complex event sites.
Responsibilities of the Event Safety Officer include:
* Attend pre-event briefings,
* Review client and contractor documentation,
* Conduct site inductions,
* Conduct incident investigations and reporting,
* Hazard and risk identification and control in an event management or film and television environment,
* Monitor and implement site specific safety management systems,
* Monitor of contractor safety systems,
* Implement safety procedures and monitor safety performance,
* Complete any compliance records as required,
* Report to the client contact, keeping them informed of any WHS/OHS related matters as required; and
* Provide post event reports to management.
Essential experience, qualifications, skills, and attributes:
* Experience in the public venues, events, film/TV, construction, or other relevant industries in a safety/risk specific capacity,
* Be prepared to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays, including early starts or late evenings as required,
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419), or higher,
* Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (CPCWHS1001) “White Card”.
* Knowledge and understanding of current contemporary WHS/OHS principles and legislation,
* Strong people skills and clear communicator skills,
* The ability to work in a dynamic team environment with a range of contractors and service providers; and
* Strong writing skills.
Desirable qualifications:
* First Aid HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, or other relevant certification,
* Victoria only - Course in the Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer (22591VIC); and
* Brisbane only - current Fire Safety Advisor (FSA) certification.
