Genus is proud to be delivering a transformative infrastructure project as part of the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ)—one of the first five REZs being developed by the NSW Government. In partnership with Ausgrid, Genus has been awarded a major contract to lead the sub-transmission line works that will power the future of clean energy in New South Wales.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a $140 million infrastructure initiative that will enable over 1 gigawatt of renewable energy to connect to the grid, supporting Australia's clean energy transition and leaving a lasting legacy. Demolition of 66kV sub-transmission lines to make way for modern infrastructure Construction of over 100 km of new 132kV dual/single circuit sub-transmission lines Installation of advanced optical ground wire and fibre optic cable systems A multi-year delivery program running through to 2028.
The Role
The Environmental & Heritage Manager role is to provide expertise between management compliance level and the operational project performance, to ensure they meet our contractual and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* Minimum 10 years' experience in an Environment and Heritage role.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and Local Regulatory Compliance related to Environment and Indigenous Cultural Heritage.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver end to end delivery of Environment and Cultural Heritage requirements on design and construction Projects.
* Experience in engaging and managing external subject matter experts such as Archaeologists, Anthropologists, Ecologists.
* Strong planning and organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to analyse, manage and mitigate risks and achieve consensus through negotiation and conflict resolution.
* Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace, and how to monitor/reduce HSE risk.
* Driver's Licence and accreditations as per the training matrix.
* Permanent work rights in Australia.
* Ability to travel to other worksites and/or client premises as required.
* Microsoft Office skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
