We are seeking two enthusiastic and committed individuals to undertake a four-year Engineering Apprenticeship. This role provides the opportunity to complete the Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade while gaining practical experience in Circular Economy operations.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Engineer Apprentice and contribute to the creation of sustainable infrastructure. The successful candidates will have the chance to work with industry leaders, gain hands-on experience, and develop their skills in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
* Enrol in and successfully complete all required training and assessments for the Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade.
* Support Circular Economy operations, including green ceramics production, operation of relevant plant and equipment, mattress shredding, warehouse operations, mechanical workshop activities, hot works, cold works, and metal works.
* Make safe damaged infrastructure and surfaces.
* Repair council warehouse machinery and equipment if trained to do so.
* Comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and all Council procedures.
* Participate in all mandatory Council training, evaluations, and workplace learning activities.
About You
* A genuine interest in the circular economy and hands-on experience or aptitude for practical work in mechanical or workshop settings.
* Completion of Year 10.
* Knowledge and/or experience in mechanical workshop/lab environments and/or boiler making.
* Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and communicate clearly with people.
* Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organise work effectively.
* Ability to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong focus on Work Health and Safety.
* Class C Driver's Licence (provisional acceptable).
* Genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
