Procurement Category Manager role leads strategic sourcing activities for Electronic & Information Systems and components across Seeing Machines supply chain. This role is responsible for developing strategic supplier relationship, managing sourcing and for obtaining improvements in procurement costs across the category.
This is a fulltime ongoing role.
Within the category of Electronic Systems, Information Systems and Electronic Components only, the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Draft, Review, Issue, Evaluate and Manage formal sourcing activities, in compliance with company quality processes, including:
- Request for Information (RFI)
- Request for Proposal (RFP)
- Request for Tender (RFT)
- Contract Manufacturing Agreement
- Together with Seeing Machines' Technical, Engineering and Information Systems (IS) authorities, develop technical specifications, statements of work, scope, and other related technical data documentation necessary to support sourcing activities.
- Conduct supplier evaluation, selection, validation, negotiation, and relationship management.
- With the support of Quality, conduct supply validation and acceptance, including supporting resolution of non-compliance and deviation matters.
- Track, analyse, benchmark, and verify procurement costs across category and identify savings potential, trends and opportunities to optimise the supply chain.
- Remain current with industry trends including new technologies and solutions across the assigned category.
- Measure, meet and report on annualised savings targets across the category.
About you

- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial Management or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a recognized Procurement/Supply Chain professional group
- 5+ experience in procurement of electronic systems and information systems (inclusive of hardware, software and data) and electronic components.
- Significant experience in the management of strategic research and sourcing activities including RFQ and tender development, supplier evaluation, selection, validation and relationship management.
- Contract management including drafting, issue and management sourcing and tendering for electronic systems and information systems (inclusive of hardware and software) and electronic components.
- Understanding and experience in using ERP Management Systems
- Knowledge of NetSuite (preferred)
- Proven planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
