ARTC, one of Australia's largest rail network owners, is dedicated to shaping the future of transport. Their team oversees the movement of over 430 freight and passenger trains daily across five states, managing 8,500km of track, 39 worksites, and the lands of over 50 First Nations communities.
In this hands‐on role as the Technical Support Officer Operator, you will primarily operate Rail Rakes, delivering and recovering rail across ARTC's network. Mechanical breakdown response, inspections, and scheduled maintenance form the essential secondary components of the position.
What you'll be doing
* Operate mechanised Rail Rakes to deliver and recover rail across the ARTC national network.
* Support resurfacing and maintenance activities.
* Conduct inspections, diagnostics, scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs.
* Maintain documentation and manage mechanical tools, spares, and consumables.
* Support apprentices and technicians.
What we're looking for
* Mechanical trade qualifications.
* Class C driver's licence.
* Experience in operating and maintaining heavy rail / earthmoving equipment.
* Welding ARC, MIG & Gas equipment.
* Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electronic systems.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
