We are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Site Support Worker to join our Specialist Community Services (SCS) team at Vincentian Village. The Site Support Worker's primary role will be to respond to the various support requirements of the consumers and to follow up with any tasks detailed in handovers.
Vinnies Mental Health Service offers low care supported accommodation service in shared living environments with support from a professional team of staff.
The Village is a 28 bed supported accommodation service for adults with a persistent and enduring mental health diagnosis who require support with day to day living. About this Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Consumer Services, the Site Support Worker (SSW) role is a direct support position located at Vincentian Village. Working closely alongside Recovery Support Workers, Peer Support Workers and Daily Life Skill Workers, SSWs are integral members of the support team, working in a recovery-oriented way providing individual tailored support to Village Consumers as required.
* Permanent Part time position
* 15.2 hours per week (working Saturday & Sunday)
* Position located in Woodbridge, W.A.
You will need to have:
* An understanding of the challenges faced by people living with a mental health challenges and the impact this can have on their daily lives
* Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective team member, with highly developed interpersonal skills
* Good written and verbal communication, including the ability to work with a group who have a range of learning styles, prepare written reports, maintain files and the capacity to represent the program at both an agency and community level.
* Values that are consistent with a person-centred, recovery based and trauma informed model including a proven capacity to apply these to work practices – in a range of contexts including crisis intervention, de-escalation and a range of recovery focused approaches.
