 
        
        Senior Mechanical Design Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Specialist to lead our CAD function and drive integration between mechanical and electrical design teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our CAD environment, setting standards for drafting excellence, and driving integration between SolidWorks Mechanical and SolidWorks Electrical.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Draftsperson to take ownership of our CAD capability and contribute to the development of mission-critical computer hardware.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and collaborate on complex projects that require seamless electro-mechanical design outputs.
You will have significant experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson/Design Drafter with leadership responsibilities and expert knowledge of SolidWorks Mechanical, including advanced skills in assemblies, sheet metal, surfacing, weldments, BOMs, and PDM.
Experience in SolidWorks Electrical integration and strong GD&T skills and drafting standards knowledge (AS 1100 / ASME Y14.5) are also essential.
This role requires a proven ability to mentor others, set standards, and lead CAD-related decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Manage the CAD environment, including standards, templates, libraries, PDM workflows, and CAD governance.
 * Drive integration between SolidWorks Mechanical and SolidWorks Electrical to create seamless electro-mechanical design outputs.
 * Deliver quality outputs, including complex models, drawings, assemblies, schematics, and BOMs, with accuracy and manufacturability in mind.
 * Lead and mentor junior drafters and engineers in CAD best practices, GD&T, and drafting standards.
 * Collaborate across disciplines to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Requirements:
 * Significant experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson/Design Drafter with leadership responsibilities.
 * Expert knowledge of SolidWorks Mechanical, including advanced skills in assemblies, sheet metal, surfacing, weldments, BOMs, and PDM.
 * Experience in SolidWorks Electrical integration.
 * Strong GD&T skills and drafting standards knowledge (AS 1100 / ASME Y14.5).
 * In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, coatings, finishes, DMF/DFA).
