Job Title: Advisor/Senior Advisor, Risk & Compliance – Melbourne, VIC, AU
We have a vacancy to join our Risk & Compliance team as a Conflicts & Ethics Senior Advisor on a full‐time, 12‐month Fixed Term Contract basis.
Responsibilities
Working with the wider Risk & Compliance management team to ensure the firm performs comprehensive conflict and other assessments related to the inception of new and existing business, with particular emphasis on ensuring the firm meets obligations in relation to conflicts of interest, AML/CTF, and global compliance issues. You will play a pivotal role within the firm's global Risk & Compliance team to ensure the work being undertaken meets the firm's global strategy.
Qualifications
1. Significant professional services experience within a law firm.
2. Australian or overseas legal qualification (or minimum of LPC).
3. Demonstrated good judgment and business awareness; ability to articulate arguments to partnership and senior management with excellent negotiation skills.
4. Strong analytical and lateral thinking; exposure to firm‐wide legal practices and various types of high‐profile commercial deals.
5. Discrete and professional, handling confidential and sensitive information.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, liaising effectively at all levels across the firm and offices.
7. Good team spirit; assists others, resolves issues diplomatically, leads by example.
8. Commitment to supporting the global function, strengthening connections worldwide.
9. Disciplined decision‐making; aware of when to escape issues to escalation.
10. Flexible and able to adapt to new situations, processes and technology.
