Claims Specialist – Short Tail, Specialty & Major Accounts | VIC & NSW
Allianz Commercial's Specialty & Major Accounts division is seeking a claims specialist to join our Short Tail Claims team in Australia. The portfolio includes property, energy, construction, and entertainment claims.
Reporting to the National Manager – Claims, the successful candidate will manage a variety of Short Tail claims across Australia and New Zealand. Responsibilities include developing claims resolution strategies, managing external service providers, engaging with Allianz's global claims community, providing claims feedback to underwriters and actuaries, and supporting business development initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of commercial claims across multiple jurisdictions, within authority levels.
- Building relationships with customers and brokers to deliver superior claims service prioritizing customer interests.
- Collaborating with global "large loss" teams and maintaining a "no surprises" reporting approach.
- Monitoring claims to ensure efficient, compliant handling.
- Reporting claims data, maximizing recoveries, and managing external providers.
- Supporting business development and staying informed on industry trends.
About you:
- Experience in complex claims handling, loss adjusting, engineering, or insurance litigation.
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant lines, especially construction claims, including coverage assessment and legal processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Negotiation and investigation skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, legislation, and regulations, proficiency with relevant systems, and a commitment to ethics and professionalism.
