Overview
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Fremantle Sailing Club, located on the stunning South Fremantle waterfront at Australia\'s largest club marina. Australian work rights are required at time of application. With over 3,500 members, multiple bars, a busy restaurant, and a thriving functions department, the Club hosts a wide range of events including weddings, corporate functions, regattas, and private celebrations. We are seeking an experienced Functions Supervisor to help lead and deliver exceptional events for our members and guests.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role responsible for supervising and delivering functions across the Club's event spaces. Working closely with the Food & Beverage and events team, you will help ensure all functions run smoothly while maintaining high standards of service and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise the delivery of weddings, corporate events and member functions
* Lead and support casual function staff during service
* Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth event execution
* Oversee event setup and pack down including room configurations
* Maintain high standards of service, presentation and guest experience
* Assist with staff training and team development
* Ensure compliance with RSA and workplace health and safety standards
About You
* Previous experience supervising functions or events in hospitality
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A hands-on approach and ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
* Professional presentation and a focus on guest service
* Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
* Current RSA certificate
* Current Approved Managers Certificate
Experience in clubs, hotels or large hospitality venues will be highly regarded.
