Gough Recruitment are seeking an experienced estimator in the Sydney market to support a high performing team About the Company Our client is a well-respected Tier 2 commercial construction company with a strong footprint in NSW. Known for delivering high-quality projects across education, industrial, healthcare, mixed-use, and commercial sectors, they pride themselves on building lasting relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. With a steady pipeline of work secured for the next 12–24 months, they are looking to appoint a skilled Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their high-performing pre-construction team. Role Overview As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the tendering and pricing of construction projects valued between $10M and $80M. You'll work closely with the Pre-Construction Manager and Project Directors to ensure accurate cost planning and bid submissions across D&C and construct-only projects. Key Responsibilities Manage the full tender process: feasibility, quantity take-offs, cost planning, and final submission Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders during bid preparation Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents Work collaboratively with the delivery team to support handover from pre-construction to site Assist with estimating systems improvement and mentoring junior estimators (if applicable) About You 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating (Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor background) Proven success pricing projects in the $10M–$80M range Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills Proficiency in Buildsoft, CostX, or similar estimating software Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field What’s On Offer Work for a reputable Tier 2 builder with national resources and local focus Projects across high-growth sectors – secure and diversified pipeline Supportive leadership and clear career development pathways Attractive remuneration package: $140K – $180K Super Hybrid flexibility for senior-level candidates (1–2 WFH days negotiable) Please call Sam Taylor from Gough Recruitment at 0401 560 014 or email your CV to staylor@goughrecruitment.com.au All applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.
