About the Role
We're seeking a senior Swift engineer to join our product team in Hobart, Australia.
As a senior Swift engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining next-generation Procreate products and features.
Your experience in Swift and technical architecture will amplify our team's impact on the creative industry.
The Team You'll Work With
This role sits with the Product team and reports directly to Michael Shaw, our Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
You'll work closely with other members of the engineering team, designers, quality assurance, and relevant executive members.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with designers to turn prototypes into shippable products
* Deliver major features to millions of artists
* Provide technical leadership through mentoring, library development, and code review
* Solve complex and unique technical problems
Requirements
* A deep understanding of Swift and its type system (Rust experience also counts)
* Understanding of multi-threaded concurrency and parallelism approaches
* Experience making technical decisions for a team and seeing them through
* Experience debugging, profiling, and resolving performance problems
* A strong track record of developing libraries used by teams
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Requirements
* Experience with diverse languages that have alternate paradigms to Swift, such as C, Haskell, and Rust
* Experience with UIKit
* Competence in linear algebra, being comfortable with matrices and vectors
* Being well-versed in testing approaches, such as property testing
