Overview
Immediate Start Available. Full‐time Environmental Field Officer, Bush Regenerator – Central Queensland. Work is predominantly based out of Biloela, with potential assignments in Gladstone and Rockhampton. This is not a FIFO role. The position involves large‐scale conservation projects across Central QLD, including Biloela, Rockhampton, Clermont, Miles, and Gladstone, with occasional travel to South‐East QLD. Projects may include mine sites that require coal board medicals and drug screening.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in carrying out ecological restoration projects, including brush cutting, weed control, large‐scale planting, and burn preparation.
* Follow field manual protocols, quality assurance, and safety procedures.
* Complete and submit all HSE forms related to project work.
* Participate in training activities and actively seek opportunities for self‐development.
* Listens to instructions and carries out tasks to completion.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in bush regeneration, natural area technician, land conservation, landscape labouring, brush cutting or planting.
* Desire to upskill and undertake training.
* Conservation and Land/Ecosystem Management (Natural Area Restoration) Cert III qualification or similar, or a commitment to obtain these qualifications.
* Current manual driver's licence.
* Capability to work in remote rural areas.
* Additional highly regarded skills: plant identification (native and exotic), ACDC licence, chemical application for weed control, tool maintenance, chainsaw cross‐cut and felling, 4WD and trailer experience, ecological burn experience, First Aid and CPR certificate.
