Where you'll be working
It is an exciting time to join the child and adolescent team at Royal North Shore Hospital. We have a 20 bedded inpatient ward, medical and surgical short stay unit, hospital in the home and outpatients services. We cater for children from 0-17 years. Our main specialities include medical, surgical, orthopaedic, ENT, plastics and mental health. We are a welcoming team and offer a supportive fun environment to all staff joining the team. The senior nursing support team includes full time NUM, CNE, CNC and CNS2's. Royal North Shore Hospital has a positive culture and actively encourages staff to develop.
What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert nursing who will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing practices.
The CNC will formulate and implement policy, guide practice development, and engage in education and research activities. The CNC is responsible for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and acts as a role model, providing nursing care on a regular basis.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria
* Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
* Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum seven years full time post graduate experience with 5 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification and/or Masters level relevant to the specialty or evidence of working towards same in identified area of specialty.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
