Ecological Leadership Position
The role of Principal Ecologist involves leading ecological assessments and technical reports. It also includes managing projects end-to-end, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met. Additionally, the position requires building and maintaining strong client relationships. The ecologist will provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members and foster a high-performance culture.
* Responsibilities:
o Lead ecological assessments and technical reports.
o Manage projects end-to-end.
o Build and maintain strong client relationships.
o Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
o Support business development and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Environmental Science or Ecology.
* 8 years' experience in ecology.
* Recognised as a 'suitably qualified person' for protected plant surveys.
* Strong knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and standards.
* Experience in EPBC assessment and referral.
* Skills in flora and fauna ID and survey methodologies.
* Proven leadership in project and team management.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and commercial acumen.
Field Requirements:
* This role includes both office and field work.
* Physically capable of working in remote areas for extended periods.
