As a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer owned equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner.
You'll have the opportunity to improve and challenge yourself, with potential to advance to higher levels of Service Technician and leadership roles in our Service Department.
You are expected to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
Responsibilities Safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools with a high degree of independent judgmentMaintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basisUpsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customersTravel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional mannerAssist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and partsOther duties assigned as needed Requirements High School diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with acceptable driving record3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and toolsAdvanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of toolsKnowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various enginesMust own tools applicable to positionSuperior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skillsAbility to frequently lift items up to 45 lbsThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
