Job Description:
Our organization is seeking an accomplished Work Health Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in upholding the highest standards of health and safety across our operations.
As a key member of our Work Health & Safety (WHS) team, you will be responsible for developing and promoting effective WHS procedures, policies, and standards. This includes assisting with daily operations, administration, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the INX Database to ensure accurate and timely data management.
* Supporting the coordination and management of health and hygiene monitoring programs (noise, dust, diesel particulate, water).
* Assisting with health and safety contractor activities for surface and underground operations.
* Participating in incident investigations across the site.
* Analyzing trends from incidents and audits, advising management on improvements.
* Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the site Mine Safety Management System (MSMS), including procedures, registers, and checklists.
* Promoting safety management systems such as Critical Risk Verification, and fostering a safety culture through consultation, communication, and training.
* Assisting with inductions and onboarding for new employees and contractors.
* Ensuring compliance with safety policies and statutory requirements through education, training, and audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Relevant WHS certifications (minimum Cert 4 WHS, HLTPAT005).
* A valid driver's license.
* Strong commitment to workforce safety and well-being.
* Excellent communication, literacy, and MS Office skills.
* Experience with INX Database.
* Previous experience working in a gold mine environment.
