Due to our continuous growth with new projects being secured, we are seeking an experienced, skilled full time Carpenter to assist our Senior Project Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Carpenter will perform all aspects of Residential and Light Commercial Carpentry in line with Australian Standards and NSW Building Code requirements.
The role involves constructing, installing, repairing and renovating structures across home extensions, renovations, decks, pergolas, cladding, framing, and general building works undertaken by Serious PRO Pty Ltd.
LOCATION
The position will be based in Caringbah NSW 2229
Work to be performed at various job sites across Sydney
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Carpenter will report directly to the Site Supervisor/Director, and work alongside other carpenters, labourers, apprentices and subcontractors on assigned projects.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Essential
● Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent international trade qualification.
● Minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on carpentry experience.
● Ability to interpret construction plans and follow technical instructions.
● Strong knowledge of residential building practices and structural carpentry.
● Competent in using hand and power tools and operating onsite
equipment.
● Understanding of WHS regulations and safe work methods.
Desirable
● Experience in Australian residential construction.
● Driver's licence.
● White Card (or ability to obtain upon employment).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The employee will be required to perform the following duties:
Carpentry & Construction
● Read and interpret architectural and structural plans, technical drawings,
and site specifications.
● Construct wall frames, floor systems, roof structures, and structural
components.
● Install doors, windows, timber cladding, ceilings, and internal linings.
● Carry out fix-out and fit-off carpentry including skirting, architraves, trims,
and cabinetry adjustments.
● Build decks, pergolas, outdoor structures, and custom timber elements.
● Install structural supports and bracing in accordance with building
requirements.
● Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials.
Renovations & Maintenance
● Conduct demolition works safely and prepare sites for construction.
● Repair and replace damaged structural and non-structural elements.
● Contribute to bathroom, kitchen, and laundry renovations as required.
● Ensure high-quality finishes in all carpentry tasks.
Site Operations
● Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery
safely.
● Follow WHS regulations and maintain a compliant, safe worksite at all times.
● Coordinate with other trades (plumbers, electricians, tilers, contractors).
● Load, unload, and transport materials as required.
Quality & Compliance
● Ensure all work meets Australian Standards, NCC codes, and company
quality expectations.
● Record job progress, variations, and communicate clearly with supervisors.
● Maintain accuracy in measurements and material usage.
