As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced, motivated, and professional Construction Estimator to join and support our expanding tender team.
About the Role:
As a Construction Estimator at Baker Built, you will be responsible for working together with the tender team to prepare accurate and competitive tenders for our Residential, Commercial and Civil Infrastructure projects.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will work closely with our Director, Project Managers, and Estimating team to analyse plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure all costs and deliverables are accurately captured.
This role requires strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to build strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and successful tender outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation
* Estimate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor costs
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
* Ensure tenders are compliant, accurate, and submitted on time
* Collaborate with internal teams throughout the tender process
* Maintain estimating databases, pricing tools, and cost records
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, ideally with experience on Council, Government and DOE projects, Residential design and builds, and TfNSW Civil Infrastructure works
* Direct, site based, construction experience with a qualification in building, construction, project management or design desirable
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in developing, maintaining and utilising estimating software, cost databases and pricing tools
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
