This opportunity
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, you will contribute to the ongoing success of TPG Telecom by supporting the Corporate Function through the development and delivery of financial management and operational reports with special focus on Payroll and Corporate property .
You will also be expected to undertake proactive analysis across your portfolio to challenge and drive business outcomes.
The role includes financial performance management and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, decision support, financial governance, process improvement and stakeholder management to the executive level.
Responsibilities
Financial Management and analysis
Provide financial and commercial support and advice to the business units.
Manage month end activities including preparation of key journals (mainly provisions and accruals) that support the accurate reporting of the performance and underlying operational expenditure, people costs and associated FTE count of the TPG corporate functions.
Provide management reporting, review of spend and budget performance, forecasts and actuals for operating expenditure, payroll and other margin accountabilities.
Review financial and operational performances with the business, ensuring risks to budget are highlighted and plans are put in place to achieve budget.
Provide detailed analysis, as required, and demonstrate understanding of key processes / functions / systems.
Proactively generate reports and insights to support the division.
Analysis, identification and alerting of any trends (opportunity & risk) and the associated impact on TPG financial performance.
Support HR leadership & Finance leaders to understand, analyse & compile overall company payroll activities & projects.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Partnering with the business collecting budget inputs for annual submission.
Managing payroll budget with business head of or exec and preparing summary for CFO review.
Working with planning team to manage the development of budgets and forecasts throughout the planning cycles.
Decision Support
Preparation of business case, where requested, to support decision making and ensuring direction is aligned with business goals.
This includes investment cases for corporate property lease and capex projects.
Identify emerging gaps quickly and prepare mitigating strategies which are commercially viable.
Ensure the business is both challenged and supported to make "clever" commercial decisions.
Financial Governance
Continually drive improvement in processes, reporting and analysis.
Partner with Financial Control team and the business to ensure maximum efficiency of collections process.
Partner with Financial Control team to ensure balance sheet compliance and governance especially around IFRS16.
Provide financial governance by ensuring adherence to TPG's policies and procedures.
Help build financial acumen in the business through financial education as required.
Stakeholder Management
Build effective working relationships across the business and manage multiple stakeholders and their priorities.
This includes building cross functional relationships and partnering at the executive level, as well as managing conflicting cross functional objectives from time to time.
Other Ad hoc
Support other commercial team activities as necessary e.g. financial analysis, planning etc, to ensure team priorities are delivered and your key stakeholders are supported.
Knowledge and experience
Finance or related qualification, and fully qualified CIMA / CPA / ACCA / CA is strongly desired.
Advanced Excel knowledge
3 years or more financial management and analysis experience, with relevant recent experience in a similar role
Prior payroll management experience desired, however, not essential.
