Job Role: Field-Based Engineer – Lifting Equipment
Salary: £33,000–£35,000 base (Realistic earnings of £55,000–£75,000 p.a.)
Hours: Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00 + Door-to-Door / Overtime @ 1.5x/2x
Location: London (90% of work in London, occasional UK travel)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Interaction Recruitment is working with a global leader in industrial vertical access equipment to recruit experienced Field Engineers for their London operations. The Package:
* Base Salary: £35,000–£40,000 with realistic total earnings of £45,000–£55,000 through overtime and door-to-door pay
* Overtime Rates:
o Weekdays (after 8.5 hrs): 1.5x
o Saturdays: 1.5x
o Sundays: 2x
* Door-to-Door Pay: Paid from the moment you leave home to when you return
* Company Van & Fuel Card: Fully equipped for business use
* Paid Overnight Stays: £25/night for occasional UK travel (accommodation covered)
* 33 Days Holiday: Including bank holidays, increasing after 1 year
* Full Training Provided: Internal onboarding and manufacturer-led technical courses
* Tools & PPE Supplied: All necessary equipment provided
* Career Progression: Clear development paths into senior or specialist roles
* No International Travel: 90% of work in London, with occasional UK travel only
The Role:
* Servicing, maintaining, and repairing vertical access equipment (hoists, lifts, rack & pinion systems) primarily across London, with occasional UK travel.
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, including VFCs and PLCs.
* Supporting installation, inspection, and commissioning of equipment.
* Collaborating with service, installation, commissioning, and support teams.
* Completing service documentation accurately and on time.
* Adhering to safety policies and procedures.
* Representing the company professionally on-site and in vehicle presentation.
* Participating in emergency out-of-hours support and flexible travel/work hours.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assisting with other field or workshop tasks as required.
What We Need From You:
* Mechanical or electrical engineering background with strong fault-finding skills.
* Relevant qualifications: NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, traction, or lift engineering.
* Previous experience as a Field Engineer or similar role.
* Full UK driving licence.
Commutable From: London, Croydon, Watford, Slough, Reading, Luton, Chelmsford, Maidstone, Guildford, Basildon.
