As our highly valued Application Support Engineer based in Brisbane, you play a critical role providing technical support, expertise, leadership, coordination and guidance to deliver secure and reliable Core Banking, Payment and Lending services to our customers. We enable technologies and services that maintain compliance, improve service consistency and reliability, reduce risk, and deliver new features that make our customers' lives easier.
You'll make an impact by:
* Supporting our critical Core Banking platform, with a focus on achieving our high SLAs through well‐executed system design and implementation.
* Interfacing with vendors, business representatives and technical specialists, projects, end‐users and management and applying expert Core Banking technical advice to translate business requirements and change requests into appropriate and efficient Core Banking outcomes.
* Reviewing and supporting vendor‐provided software updates through all life cycles of implementation.
* Conducting system patching and vulnerability management to keep within the organization's operational risk appetite statement.
* Configuring and maintaining 24/7 system monitoring and alerting of critical systems.
* Supporting project delivery teams of non‐production environment availability, configuration and application build and deployment processes.
* Building and configuring ancillary Release and Deployment systems.
* Documenting technical processes and procedures.
* Participating in the 24/7 rotational Core Banking on‐call roster.
* Managing incidents and communicating with stakeholders for outages.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* 5+ years in IT with a background in Application Support and/or Systems Administration.
* Extensive experience with Application Support in a Linux‐based environment (ideally Red Hat).
* Extensive experience supporting a Core Banking or ERP‐style system.
* Experience utilizing DBMS for support purposes (ideally DB2).
* Experience working with third‐party vendors for third‐level support.
* Experience with Linux system maintenance and operations.
* Experience utilizing and writing scripts for application support and management (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
* Experience operating in an AWS‐based ecosystem (EC2, RDS, S3).
* Experience in service management/inincident management of integrated operational systems.
Highly Regarded Experience
* Experience in an application support role in financial services.
* Experience operating within a regulated environment.
* Experience supporting an "On Premise" style Core Banking system (e.g., TCS BaNCS).
* Experience in enterprise scheduling systems (StoneBranch, Control M, ESP).
* Experience with release and deployment management for off‐the‐shelf systems on Linux.
* Insight into banking and finance sector regulations and compliance requirements.
