About The Role
The Shoreline is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals to work in food service and housekeeping roles and who share our CREED: Caring, Respect, Excellence, Engaged, Dignity. As a member of the Shoreline team, you enjoy the company of the elderly and are passionate about enhancing the lives of residents. You will work alongside the Companions, ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care across all standards of the facility. You will be trained in both housekeeping and servery roles to fulfil the roster capacity.
In The Catering Role You Will Be Responsible For
* Food preparation including kitchen skills, meal labelling and plating
* Prepare the servery for use
* Check current stock in fridge and freezer and ensure condiments are full on tables
* Collect current meal sheets and check portions and any special requirements
* Serve and present hot meals in line with Chef's instructions
* Clean between meals, wipe tables, and clear dirty plates and trays
* Close down servery and return unused hot meals to kitchen
* Wipe tables, wash dishes, and clean floors
* Set up for next service
* Morning tea, afternoon tea and supper trolley runs; deliver hot and cold beverages, biscuits, cakes and sandwiches to rooms
* Water jug delivery in the morning and at supper
* Assist in coffee shop as required
* Be able to do room delivery of special meals or meals ordered from the retirement village
* Work with residents in a polite and accepting manner and respect resident input
* Ensure agreed mealtimes are adhered to and meals are provided in a high-quality, person-centred and efficient manner
In The Housekeeping Role You Will Be Responsible For
* Providing cleaning services according to established cleaning schedules
* Mopping and vacuuming floors, damp dusting, waste management, restocking supplies
* Maintaining records of laundry and cleaning schedule duties
* Safe storage and use of cleaning agents and correct quantities
* Participating in infection control programs
* Liaising with residents about care and service delivery preferences
* Working as a team member and providing a supportive environment, including acting as a buddy to new employees
* Providing laundry services according to The Shoreline's Laundry Procedures
* Cleaning of laundry, restocking supplies
* Maintaining records of laundry schedule duties
* Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with residents for consultation and feedback
* Delivering services in line with privacy legislation and residents' preferences
* Interacting with residents in a kind, caring, and respectful manner
* Respecting and supporting resident diversity and ensuring inclusion in service delivery
* Helping residents make informed choices about their services and seeking assistance when needed
About You
As someone with a proven track record of compassion, you will demonstrate kindness and empathy with the elderly and other diverse individuals. You will be responsive to residents' needs, while remaining calm and optimistic under pressure. You are motivated by contributing to bettering residents' lives and aim to help set a new standard in care.
Required Skills and Attributes
* Demonstrated empathy and commitment to the care of older people
* Experience in delivering exceptional customer-centred service outcomes
* Ability to demonstrate kindness and empathy and model behaviours aligned with the Shoreline's CREED
* Understanding of the ageing process and a commitment to advocate for older people in residential or home care
* Police check clearance
* Up-to-date vaccination as required by legislation or industry practice
