**About the role**
In this leadership role, you will provide strategic leadership in addition to managing all aspects of operations, with a particular focus on strengthening service collaboration and integration both internally, and externally with local stakeholders, government and community. You will also contribute to a multi-disciplinary service culture that promotes best practice and service excellence.
You will be responsible for the coordination, planning, development, implementation and delivery of Maternity & Child Health programs, projects and services, including:
- Universal Maternal & Child Health service;
- Enhanced Maternal & Child Health service;
- Tender responsibility for Immunisation service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strong leadership in the development and ongoing operation of Maternal & Child Health services and programs that promotes excellence in the health care, and wellbeing of the child.
- Contribute to the development of services that are evidence based to ensure they meet the needs of local children and their families.
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to promote Maternal & Child Health services and programs.
- Provide expert knowledge on contributors and effects of vulnerability on children and best practices to increase participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families/care givers.
- Implement service strategies that provide positive access and are inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Manage service finances and budget in accordance with approved Council policies and requirements.
- Ensure that all funding requirements are met including project evaluation, reporting, data collation and quality assurance requirements.
**About you**
Essential Experience:
- Experience and ability to provide effective staff leadership and management.
- Experience in developing policies and strategies to support the effective planning and delivery of Maternal & Child Health nursing services.
- Understanding on contributors and effects of vulnerability on children and best practices to increase participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families/care givers.
- Clear understanding of and commitment to the principles of integrated and innovative practice, and multi-disciplinary service delivery.
- Able to provide sound financial budget management and reporting.
- Minimum postgraduate Maternal & Child Health Nursing qualification and substantial professional experience in Maternal & Child Health nursing.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a registered nurse and midwife.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required under the current state government pandemic orders.
