With a team of 100 and a strong growth trajectory, they combine mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to deliver innovative solutions that move to market faster than competitors.
About the Role
We're seeking an Engineering Manager who can balance technical depth with strong leadership. This is a hands-on role in a complex R&D environment, managing multiple projects while driving process improvements and standardisation as they scale from a medium-sized company.
You'll lead a team of 16 (with plans to grow), including three discipline leads (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Software), and report to the General Manager. The role involves managing new product development, enhancements to existing equipment, and resolving legacy issues from recent acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow the engineering team, fostering collaboration and accountability
Oversee R&D projects for bespoke automated machinery, ensuring timely delivery
Implement and refine processes, SOPs, and document management systems
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing innovation with day-to-day priorities
Engage with customers to develop tailored solutions and maintain industry standards
Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across engineering practices
Hold your own with strong personalities and navigate a dynamic environment
What We're Looking For
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
Proven leadership experience in engineering or R&D environments
Strong technical background in automation, design, and manufacturing
Ability to manage complex projects and legacy systems
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience growing teams and implementing scalable processes
Industry preference: manufacturing (open to O&G/energy if technically aligned)
