Tell me about this role:
The Field Service Representative (FSR) is a hands‑on technical role supporting critical Defence cyber capabilities. Based primarily in Canberra, you’ll be part of the Cyber Operations Team, working on nationally significant cyber systems that enable training, exercises and operational activities across the Australian Defence Force.
This role focuses on the maintenance, support and sustainment of cyber range infrastructure, mission systems and supporting environments. You will provide frontline technical support, respond to incidents, carry out scheduled maintenance and work closely with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to ensure systems remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose. Occasional domestic travel and support during exercises may be required.

What will I be doing day to day?
* Provide technical support for multiple operational Defence Cyber systems
* Conduct scheduled and ad‑hoc maintenance activities in accordance with the Maintenance Management System (MMS)
* Install, configure and maintain physical infrastructure, hardware and production software
* Monitor system performance and health, identifying issues and implementing fixes or escalating where required
* Apply software updates, patches and configuration changes in line with approved documentation and security requirements
* Log, maintain and manage support requests and incidents
* Support on‑site activities, including classrooms, exercises and training events
* Assist with upgrades, transitions into service and system sustainment activities
* Participate in testing and evaluation of COSPO products and changes
* Perform asset management, audits and record keeping of COSPO-owned equipment
* Provide clear, timely feedback and technical advice to stakeholders and supervisors
What sort of skills do I need?
* Strong experience in IT administration and technical support roles
* Hands‑on knowledge of physical and virtual network environments
* Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and infrastructure issues methodically
* Understanding of cyber security principles and secure system operations
* Experience working collaboratively in cross‑functional or project teams
* Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision while meeting deadlines
* Australian citizenship and NV2 security clearance
