The farm combines cropping and livestock production, including 9,000 breeding ewes and a feedlot operation supporting up to 40,000 lambs annually. The business focuses on efficient livestock management, modern farming practices, and high standards of animal care. About the Role D & D Warburton is seeking an experienced Senior Sheep Farm Worker to take on a leadership role within the livestock operation. The successful candidate will act as second-in-charge of the livestock division, overseeing breeding programs, feedlot operations, and general animal husbandry, while supported by a farm hand. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing sheep breeding programs, including mating operations for 9,000 ewes Oversee lambing operations and the rearing of young livestock Monitor flock performance, productivity, and animal welfare Identify livestock health, nutrition, and productivity issues and implement appropriate solutions Supervise livestock handling activities including herding, catching, drenching, and yard work Supervise and coordinate feedlot operations for lamb production Develop and implement livestock feeding plans to support growth and productivity Monitor feed quality, livestock condition, and feeding efficiency Implement and supervise animal health and welfare programs Implement biosecurity management practices to protect livestock health Monitor plant health and nutrition issues affecting livestock feed Manage and monitor water supply systems and irrigation for livestock areas Maintain livestock yards, fencing, watering systems, and other farm infrastructure Supervise general farm maintenance and cleaning of livestock housing and facilities Ensure equipment used in livestock operations is properly maintained and operated Requirements Proven experience in sheep farming or livestock management Strong knowledge of breeding programs, lambing, and feedlot management Experience in animal health monitoring and husbandry practices Ability to supervise and guide farm staff Physically fit and capable of working in rural environments Valid driver’s licence
