Your new role As the APS5 Intranet Officer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the agency's intranet during a period of significant redevelopment. You'll support business areas in publishing and improving content, ensuring it meets accessibility standards and aligns with communication objectives. The role involves hands-on publishing, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to broader intranet strategy and performance. Key responsibilities include: Developing and publishing intranet content that meets accessibility and style standards Managing intranet publishing requests via a service desk, including triage and actioning Advising business areas on intranet best practices using performance insights Supporting content migration from the old intranet to the new platform Collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet communication and business goals What you'll need to succeed To thrive in this role, you'll bring a mix of technical know-how, communication finesse, and a user-focused mindset. Specifically, you'll need: Experience with SharePoint (preferably SharePoint Online) or similar content management systems Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders Familiarity with managing and improving intranet platforms, including content publishing and migration Skills in content writing, editing, and analysis, with a focus on clarity and plain English A solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and how they apply to intranet design Exposure to project or change management practices Experience with tools like Jira for workflow or task tracking is a plus.
