The bare roots of the job...
We're looking for a Fire Planning Coordinator to join our Enterprise Performance team based in either North or North-West of Tasmania. As the critical planning lead for fire mitigation and response, you will shape and deliver a strategic, risk-based approach to fire protection of Forico's diverse natural forest and plantation estate across a modified landscape in Tasmania. This role will design and implement contemporary tactical and operational fire plans, set mitigation priorities, and ensure fire preparedness meets legal and industry standards.
With accountability for budgets, performance evaluation and continuous improvement, you will coordinate internal and external stakeholders to deliver proactive fire risk reduction and contribute expertise to operational response during fire events.

You will bring excellent critical thinking skills, written and verbal communication, and confidence to collaborate, engage stakeholders and drive best practice outcomes, along with:
* Demonstrated experience and in-depth understanding of fire management principles and practices;
* Understanding of fire-related risks, risk assessment methods, and the ability to develop risk mitigation strategies;
* Ability to develop strategic, operational and risk mitigation plans that translate into comprehensive, effective operational outcomes;
* Ability to manage competing priorities (balance long-term strategic goals with short-term operational and budgetary needs);
* Relevant qualification in a related discipline (tertiary desirable);
* Project management qualification or demonstrated experience (desirable);
* Knowledge of the Forest Practices System in Tasmania (desirable);
* Strong computer literacy; and
* A current driver's licence (C class).
