Salary: $66,343 - $ 74,571 gross p.a. plus 12% Super plus Adverse Working Conditions Allowance Level 1
38 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 9 day fortnight
Located at Bomaderry Works Depot, McIntyre Way, Bomaderry

About The Role

Shoalhaven's Northern Maintenance Team is looking for an experienced and hands-on Ganger 2 to supervise and support civil construction and maintenance teams across the Northern Shoalhaven district. These responsibilities include:

Support and supervise staff in the day-to-day operations of the construction and maintenance functions throughout the Council area.
Ensure the work area's compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.
Assist in Council responses to emergencies and other operational needs, including being available for 'call back' and participate in an 'on call' roster.
Undertake any of the duties listed below:
Read, interpret and implement plans.
Risk inspection of assets
Operate and maintain major plant up to and including excavators, garbage compactors, graders, backhoes, reach mower tractors, dozers, water tankers, tractors, rollers and/or street sweepers etc.
Operate and maintain trucks up to and including those requiring a HR class driver's licence
Operate and maintain plant items such as, forklifts, etc.
Undertake manual tasks such as concreting, concrete finishing, shoveling, screeding, raking, digging, lifting and traffic control.
Operate and maintain small plant items such as chainsaws, plate compactors, jack picks, concrete saws, electric power tools, vegetation trimmers, etc.
Complete standard paperwork such as timesheets etc.
Deliver quality workmanship in all tasks.
Use Council's authorised recordkeeping system(s) to create, receive and capture corporate records relevant to the responsibilities of the position in accordance with Council's Records Management Policy.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

School Certificate or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
MR Licence (dependent upon role specified) or willingness to obtain.
Minimum NSW RMS 'Implement Traffic Control Plans' or willingness to obtain.
SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or recognised interstate General Construction Induction Training card.
Proof of right to work in Australia

While not essential, experience in the safe operation and routine maintenance of a grader would be desirable.
