As a result of sustained growth and success, we are pleased to offer an exceptional opportunity for an experienced manager to lead warehouse operations at our site in Altona. You will ensure smooth and efficient site operations aligned with company policies and objectives, leading quality logistics services in line with the Company QMS and DIFOT targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership in the effective allocation and utilisation of staff and equipment across warehouse and customer service functions to ensure operational efficiency.
2. Ensure all procedures and practices align with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO standards.
3. Oversee daily site operations, administrative processes, and overall site performance, including security and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
4. Manage and review the performance of direct reports and their teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and KPIs.
5. Maintain workforce compliance by ensuring all employees hold current licenses, certificates of competency, and have completed appropriate training for safe and efficient operations.
6. Take ownership of site Profit & Loss performance, including financial reporting and the implementation of corrective actions to meet financial targets.
7. Monitor revenue and cost reports regularly, identifying discrepancies and initiating appropriate action.
8. Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation and the company's OH&S policies, including participation in risk assessments and incident prevention strategies.
9. Actively participate in and support the site's Emergency Response Plan (ERP) as a senior leader.
10. Oversee CHEP pallet account management and transfers.
11. Maintain compliance with HACCP standards, contributing to reviews of related systems, processes, and equipment.
12. Ensure correct segregation and storage of goods in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
13. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and operational outcomes.
Skills and Experience
1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
2. Proven ability to lead and evaluate warehouse teams and processes against KPIs
3. Strong financial acumen with experience reviewing revenue and costs to meet targets
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic WMS/TMS software
5. Skilled in resource management to drive efficient outcomes
6. Demonstrated team leadership to achieve business goals
7. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and influencing capabilities
10. 3PL experience in the chemical industry (desirable)
11. Knowledge of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code and/or DG Storage & Handling Regulations
