The Role
Responsibilities
* Lead a community of Salvationists and supporters to advance The Salvation Army's mission in the region.
* Share the message of salvation within the community, and equip Corps members to bring others to faith.
* Guide and support individuals in their spiritual, emotional, social, and physical transformation.
* Develop and sustain a thriving Corps that is actively engaged in the community, working closely with other Salvation Army mission expressions and enterprises.
* Work with the Area Officer to coordinate mission partnerships across Salvation Army programs.
How You Will Make An Impact
* Actively share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and provide Christian teaching.
* Commit to ongoing personal and professional development, including pastoral supervision, coaching, or spiritual direction.
* Lead the weekly Sunday morning Worship Meeting.
* Foster a culture of discipleship and leadership development.
* Facilitate worship services, discipleship groups, fellowship gatherings, and special events.
* Organise and lead prayer meetings, preach or teach as required.
* Oversee Corps financial and administrative processes in line with TSA policies.
* Manage local fundraising activities, including the Red Shield Appeal.
* Ensure personnel‑related administrative processes are accurate and up to date.
* Promote regular giving and ensure offerings through the Generous Living program are recorded appropriately.
* Collaborate with other mission expressions and enterprise leaders to create pathways into Christian faith.
* Work with Corps leadership to develop, implement, and review an annual Local Mission Plan aligned with the Divisional Plan.
* Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Corps programs.

* Demonstrated spiritual and organisational leadership, strong pastoral skills, and a committed Christian faith.
* A deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, with strong understanding of its doctrines and principles.
* Ability to disciple individuals in their journey with Jesus, offering pastoral support and prayer.
* High levels of initiative and self‑motivation.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with diverse individuals.
* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma level) in Mission, Theology, teaching, psychology, social work, youth work, community services, or equivalent experience and capability.
* Proven ability to build and lead teams effectively.
* Mandatory requirement to be a Soldier and commit to the Soldier's Covenant before entering employment.
* Successful completion of a national police check.
* Current Working With Children Check / Working With Vulnerable People Check.
* Completion and maintenance of compulsory TSA training modules.
* Willingness to undertake additional training as required for the role.
* Current driver's licence.
* Availability to work weekends and outside standard business hours, with days off negotiated according to the National Employment Standards.
* Availability during major periods such as Easter, Christmas, and the Red Shield Appeal, with leave only granted if pre‑approved by the Divisional Commander.
* Responsibility for maintaining and servicing the tool‑of‑trade vehicle, ensuring it remains clean, functional, and well‑presented.
