The Role
We are currently have a great opportunity for a Fitter Operator to join the Cargill Agriculture & Supply Chain (CASC) team at our Newcastle site.
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for maintaining optimum asset health for all plant equipment, systems, and structures by performing inspections, lubrication, repairs, adjustments, modifications and replacements as dictated by maintenance strategy. The person in this position will also play an important role in the safety and housekeeping programs for the facility by handling individual assignments and assisting with addressing facility near miss/incident conditions and projects. This position is also responsible for coordinating assigned portions of the preventive maintenance program. This position will also be required to support operations by assisting in plant coverage where existing operations reliefs cannot cover shortfalls, plant areas will include but not limited to Weighbridge, Preparation, Extraction, Shortening, Packaging.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsibility/Duty
Perform facility, and equipment repairs as directed from the maintenance register/work orders and maintain spare parts per the location program. This requires the ability to trouble shoot and diagnose complex problems (mechanical and controls). It requires the ability to read and understand equipment/operation manuals and drawings. It also includes the ability to perform cutting and welding and the understanding on how to use basic shop tools. Will require working at heights, confined space entry and operation within designated hazardous areas onsite as part of regular duties.
Preventative Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance, lubrications and inspections, per the preventive maintenance schedule and document as directed. This includes identifying repairs needed and submitting work orders to be scheduled.
Safety Management
Adheres to work and safety instruction by taking an active role in contributing to building a safety culture.
Does not compromise the safety of themselves or others.
Will be required to complete Pre-Job Hazard Analysis documents and plant specific permits related to required tasks
Clearly demonstrates the ability to find and implement solutions that reduce the footprint of self and the workgroup on the environment.
Ensures compliance with Cargill's Safety and Environmental policy.
Plant Coverage
Operate and maintenance in various process areas throughout the facility in a safe, efficient and result oriented manner.

Food Safety & Quality Management

Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
Administration & Reporting
Reporting information regarding subsequent work required, preventative maintenance issues and completion of Work Order documentation Keeping up to date CMMS worksheets and equipment history.
Assitstance in management of the store tidiness and equipment management, including unpacking/packing items, trcking inventory etc.
